Introduction
Communication between modules within a can bus (controller area network) system is essential for the proper operation of various industrial and automotive applications, especially in diagnostic and control systems. However, it is possible for modules on the can bus to be displayed as faulty, indicating a problem in the connection or configuration of the system. Such failures can significantly affect the ability to monitor and repair equipment, causing delays and increasing operating costs.
Detailed descriptions of common errors
When the can bus modules are displayed as erroneous (marked as an “x”), this may be due to communication problems, configuration or even physical component failures. Possible causes:
1- There is no proper communication between modules due to an error in the can bus or in the software configuration.
2- Some module could have a duplicated or incorrectly configured can address causing bus conflicts.
3- The diagnostic software or the main ecu might not be configured correctly to interpret the can network.

Effects and consequences
Error in the communication between modules, lack of transmission of essential data between the different modules of the system, generating can address conflicts, causing conflicts within the network, malfunctioning of the software, not being able to correctly interpret the data from the can network, loss of important data, increase in operating costs.
